New homes plan for North Lincolnshire village

The land is already earmarked for new housing.

A development of up to 48 homes has been submitted for a North Lincolnshire village in an effort to improve the region’s housing supply.

The application, submitted by Maltgrade Ltd, would see the homes built on Station Road, Hibaldstow.

Currently the site is allocated as ‘countryside’ and lies between two housing developments in the village.

However, the site is earmarked for housing under the county’s upcoming local plan which is expected to be put before North Lincolnshire councillors at a later date.

The plan will outline the authority’s ambition for housing in future years and work as guidance for deciding on planning applications submitted to the council.

A mix of housing is proposed for the village site including bungalows and two storey houses.

Around 10% of the properties have also been allocated for affordable housing.

The applicant said in a planning statement that the development is sustainable given the authority’s lack of housing land supply over the next five years.

It said: “Overall, the application is proposing a sustainable form of development in a sustainable location.

“The site is suitable for development with no constraints to its availability nor its achievability in an orderly timescale.”

North Lincolnshire Council will consider the application at a later date.
