Workers rescue injured swan on Brayford Pool

True heroes

Construction workers at a building site in Lincoln rescued an injured swan from the water on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at around 3pm on September 19, when they noticed a swan struggling in the water as it looked injured.

The bird had what appeared to be blood on its head and seemed disorientated as strong winds battered Lincoln.

Another swan tried to attack the workers as they reached to rescue the injured bird.

But they managed to shoo away the other swan and went down on the River Witham bank.

They wrapped up the injured swan in blue netting from the work site and lifted her to safety.

They than called the RSPCA to collect and care for the bird.
