Boston man charged with attempted rape

He has been remanded in custody

A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted rape after allegedly assaulting a woman in her 60s in Boston earlier this month.

As previously reported, the woman sustained knee injuries as she was pushed over during the incident, which happened at around 4.30am on October 7 when the victim was on her way to work walking along Fydell Crescent.

Police have since confirmed that they have arrested and charged Roshad Abbas of High Street Boston with attempted rape.

He appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court on Monday, October 15 and was remanded in custody.

Officers investigating are appealing for help in identifying witnesses to this incident.

It is believed that a member of the public stopped to assist and police said it is vital that they speak to that person and anyone else who witnessed anything relevant.
