Tributes to men who died in industrial accident

The victims have been named by police

Families have paid tribute to two men who died in an industrial incident in Attleborough last week.

Police were called to Banham Poultry at about 1.10am on Thursday, October 4 after reports that two subcontractors from a pest control company working on site had been found dead.

Specialist investigators were on site looking into the refrigeration gas leak and determining any link with the men’s deaths and at the time of the incident police said it was believed there was no threat to the wider public as a result of the gas leak.

The two men have been named as Neil Moon, 49, from Spalding and Jonathan (Jon) Collins, 34, from Watton in Norfolk.

Neil’s son said: “I will miss listening to his stories; my life will never be the same without him. He was my hero and the best father I could’ve ever asked for”

His daughter said: “The colours of the world may constantly change, but dad my love for you will always remain the same. I will miss him so much and cherish all the memories we had together”

His wife said: “Neil was the most amazing husband and father. There are no words to describe the loss I feel. Life will never be the same again. Tonight there will be a brighter star in the sky.”

Jon’s family described him as “a devoted family man who will continue to be loved and missed by all those who knew him.”

The outcome of the post mortems, which were carried out this week, are now pending further investigations.

Formal identification is subject to the approval of the coroner at inquest which will take place later on Thursday.
