Two seriously injured as car hits brick wall

A man and woman were taken to hospital

A man and a woman were seriously injured after a car crashed into a brick wall in Nettleham over the weekend.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after a car lost control on the corner where Nettleham High Street meets Greetwell Lane at around 9.15pm on Saturday, September 29.

An eyewitness at the scene, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Lincolnite: “An Audi was travelling down High Street into Nettleham and lost control on the corner.

“They swerved and hit the curb and then propelled into a brick wall.

“There were horrendous sounds and the wheel/tyre exploded. We pulled over and went to help them as I called 999.

“I called for the fire brigade also at this point and medics arrived quickly. Police took a statement and casualties were still being treated on the road as we left an hour later.”

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “A man and a woman in her teens were injured in this single vehicle collision. Both were seriously injured and taken to hospital.”

Police are continuing to investigate the crash. Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting incident number 463 of September 29.
