Stamford mum buys “killer” bananas

Sainsburys apologised

A Stamford mother made a shocking discovery after buying some threatening bananas wanting to “kill her” from a Sainsbury’s store.

Fiona Shepherd made the discovery on Tuesday morning after buying the packet of eight fair trade bananas.

She posted to the supermarket on Twitter saying: “bit extreme? I enjoy bananas on toast, but opening a bag this morning, it seems they don’t like me as much?”

The supermarket responded and apologised for the threatening bananas, asking Fiona to contact them.

Fiona Shepherd posted on Facebook about the ordeal.

She also joked on Facebook that she was too worried to eat them, adding “I dare not eat it in case it’s been tampered with! What if it really wants to kill me???”…although she had “already eaten one”.

Mandy Hicks commented: “AHH it’s not the banana that will kill you, but while you are distracted looking at it a huge spider will pop out of the bag!”

They don’t look very apeeling.
