Two seriously injured in A46 crash

The road was closed for more than five hours

An 84-year-old man and a seven-year-old girl have been seriously injured in a crash on the A46 Lincoln this afternoon.

It happened just after 12pm near the Skellingthrope roundabout, when a red Ford Fusion, a grey Audi estate and a silver Ford Fiesta crashed.

An 84-year-old man, the driver of one of the vehicles and a seven-year-old girl, a passenger in one of the other vehicles, have been seriously injured.

The girl has been transferred to Queen’s Medical Centre at Nottingham for treatment.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area around midday and saw either of the vehicles before the collision or saw the crash itself to contact them on 101.
