When Washingborough Road will reopen

Two weeks of road works have been carried out

A busy road in Lincoln is set to reopen this Sunday evening after two weeks of roadworks as part of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass project.

As previously reported, ducting works around the perimeter of the proposed Washingborough Road roundabout started on Monday, October 29.

During the works a diversion route was in place, but this disruption is set to end for motorists when Washingborough Road reopens again at 6pm on Sunday, November 11.

Executive Member for Highways at Lincolnshire County Council, Councillor Richard Davies, previously said: “This is one of the first steps towards building the new Washingborough Road roundabout – one of four new roundabouts being constructed as part of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass.”

The 7.5km Lincoln Eastern Bypass project is part-funded by a £50 million Central Government capital grant and will improve Lincoln’s infrastructure, encourage growth, minimise traffic congestion and enhance the inter-city environment.
