Persistent speeder caught doing 150mph

He will be sentenced in March

A 36-year-old man was convicted of speeding three times in one week, including at more than 150mph on one occasion.

Linas Gedminas of Stumpacre, Bretton, Peterborough, was caught on a camera speeding in his Audi S8 three times on the A17 near Long Sutton.

A hearing at Lincoln Magistrates Court on Monday, December 10 heard Gedminas clocked speeds of 151mph, 145mph and 78mph in June.

According to Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership it is the highest speed recorded on camera in the county.

He was convicted of three counts of speeding in his absence. He is due to be sentenced on March 5.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “Linas Gedminas,36, of Bretton, Peterborough, was summoned to court on December 10 for charges of exceeding a 60mph speed limit on June 1 2018.”
