Imps to wear black armbands in memory of Grace Millane

When they play against Morecambe on Saturday

Lincoln City Football Club players will wear black armbands when they play against Morecambe on Saturday.

This is as a mark of respect the University of Lincoln graduate and hockey club player Grace Millane, 22, who was murdered while backpacking in New Zealand at the beginning of December.

The Imps said in a statement: “Everyone at Lincoln City Football Club would like to offer our condolences to the family and friends of former University of Lincoln student Grace Millane.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone connected with Grace at this sad time.”

Meanwhile, detectives investigating the killing Grace have found a shovel they believe is linked to her death.

A 26-year-old man has been charged with Grace’s murder and appeared in an Auckland court on Monday, but entered no plea.

A fundraiser from the University of Lincoln hockey club raised almost £5,000 so far.
