Inmate charged with injuring Lincoln Prison staff

One of three similar incidents

A 32-year-old man has been charged with three counts of assault on prison staff, one of which was in Lincoln.

Aklakur Rahman, originally from Ipswich in Suffolk, is alleged to have injured a member of prison staff at HMP Lincoln in July 2017.

He also allegedly injured prison staff and another inmate at HMP Wayland, near Thetford, in July 2017, and also another prison staff at HMP Wakefield in August 2017.

The man appeared via video link before Lincoln magistrates on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

Rahman was bailed until his next appearance at Lincoln Crown Court on January 21, 2019.

Lincolnshire Police officers have been working with the Ministry of Justice as part of their enquiries.
