Owl save you: Workers rescue unlucky bird from sewer

The RSPCA assisted

A clumsy tawny owl is thanking its lucky feathers for eagle eyed workers in Boston after it took a tumble down a rural sewer vent.

Anglian Water workers who were carrying out routine jetting spotted the stuck tawny owl last week.

The workers called the RSPCA before the bird was soon released. They posted a touching video of the bird’s miraculous rescue on social media.

Gentle coaxing from RSPCA workers (and a long stick) were enough to free the confused owl.

Caught on camera, it emerged and took a tentative first flight across the fields.
