Teens arrested over hammer robbery at Lincoln shop

A 15-year-old and an 18-year-old are in custody

Two teenagers have been arrested after an attempted hammer robbery at a Lincoln shop.

Both suspected males, 15-years-old and 18-years-old, are from the local area and remain in custody.

At around 9.25pm on Monday, January 28 four males entered the Ampal store on Sincil Bank with two hammers.

As previously reported, one of the suspected offenders threatened a shopkeeper with a hammer and demanded that they hand over money.

Following a struggle over the till all four males left the store without taking anything. But they caused significant damage on their way out.

Lincolnshire Police is still appealing for information about the incident. Anyone with information is being urged to contact the force on 101, quoting incident 441 of January 28.
