Cyclist injured in crash with lorry in North Hykeham

It is causing lengthy delays

A cyclist suffered injuries after they were hit by a lorry in an incident which has closed Station Road in North Hykeham.

Emergency services are at the scene of the crash which happened at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, February 27.

The cyclist’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, but incident is likely to cause “lengthy delays police said.

According to AA Traffic there is currently no left turn to Station Road from Newark Road.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We were called at 3.30pm today to a report of an RTC involving an HGV and a cyclist on Station Road, North Hykeham.

“The cyclist has suffered injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

“There are likely to be lengthy delays as a result of this incident, and we would advise motorists to avoid the area if possible.”

A spokesperson for EMAS said: “East Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a lorry in Station Road, North Hykeham, near Lincoln, at 3.23pm today.

“An ambulance crew is still at the scene (as of 4pm).”
