Designs revealed for £6.7m Cleethorpes plaza

Your chance to have a say

Plans have been revealed for an “exciting” £6.7 million plaza in Cleethorpes, which would enhance and improve the town.

As previously reported, the plans were given the go-ahead by councillors in August but new visuals have now been released.

North East Lincolnshire Council are inviting residents to have their say on the plans with a drop-in event at the Baptist Church on Alexandra road from 4pm to 7pm.

The project team will have two proposed options on the table at the event and will be able to talk through them in more detail.

Any feedback gathered at the session and online will help to develop a final design for the plaza area. The survey opens on February 5 and closes on February 10.

Over the past two years the council has secured £5.7 million in external funding from central government, leaving £1 million for the council to pay.

Councillor Peter Wheatley, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “We promised to come back to the local residents and businesses with some options for the plaza area of Sea View Street.

“We’d like people to come along and let us know what they think. It’s an important area of the resort, much used during events like the Armed Forces Day, so we want to make it as welcoming as possible.”
