Drink driver knocks down bus shelter

He gave a positive breathalyser test

A 27-year-old driver allegedly knocked a bus shelter on its side before being arrested in Great Hale this morning.

Police were called to the scene on Heckington Road in Great Hale during the early hours of the morning at 12.22am on Tuesday, February 5.

Photographs show the extent of the significant damage caused to the bus shelter which appears to be almost completely destroyed.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “A 27-year-old man was arrested following a positive breathalyser test. His car collided with the bus shelter.

“Highways were called to clear up debris (from bricks) in the road and the damage sounds signifiant.”

The man has not been charged at the time of writing.
