The opening date has been set for a £2.1 million Lincolnshire Co-op food store and pharmacy in Hykeham which will create 15 new jobs.
The newly-built food store on Newark Road will open on Thursday, March 21.
It will provide a range of services including an in-store bakery, takeaway Costa Coffee, hot food-to-go, convenient meal options, products from the Love Local range and a selection of chilled beers and wines.
It will also house Lincolnshire Co-op’s pharmacy and podiatry service which will move from its current location further along Newark Road.
There will be a more accessible private consultation room and a bigger dispensary inside the new pharmacy.
There will also be a 21-space car park including two disabled spaces.
The shop on Newark Road sits on a site which was previously a used car dealership and was bought by the society after the business owners took the decision to retire.
Food Store Manager Adam Waddingham said: “It’s exciting to be opening a new food store to provide valued services to people in and around Hykeham. We’re all eager to welcome people in and get started.”
Health Champion and Trainee Dispenser at Crossroads Pharmacy Laura Malin said: “As a team we’re pleased to be moving to a new location and facilities which will help us serve the community.
“Bringing the food store and pharmacy together means customers can get everything they need in one place.”
Two local charities will each be presented with a £500 donation at an official opening celebration the following week.
Lincolnshire Co-op will continue to run its food store, post office and pharmacy at the Hykeham Green Shopping Centre on the junction of Moor Lane and Lincoln Road.
