Road closures resume in Branston this weekend for bypass works

The final two planned weekend closures on this road

Weekend closures will resume on the B1188 Lincoln Road through Branston from 6.30pm today, Friday, March 22.

As previously reported, the closure will allow for continued construction as part of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass project.

Eleven consecutive weekends were originally outlined for closure from January 18. Progress ahead of schedule meant that three weekends of restrictions were lifted.

They are now back in place from March 22-25, as well as March 29-April 1, from 6.30pm on Fridays until 6am on Mondays.

The diversion route for the closure will be via South Park Avenue/South Park to St Catherines to A15 to B1178 to B1188, and vice versa.

No vehicular through traffic will be allowed to pass through the works while underway including emergency service vehicles.

Executive member for highways at Lincolnshire County Council, Councillor Richard Davies, said: “The final two weekend closures, on March 22-25 and March 29 to April 1, will still go ahead as planned so road users should plan their journeys accordingly.

“I want to thank everyone for remaining patient during these and all of our other Lincoln Eastern Bypass works.”
