This week’s forecast: Weather warning for wind and rain

Here’s what to expect over the next 48 hours

Strong winds and heavy rain will batter Lincoln over the next 24 hours and beyond.

The Met Office has issued a weather warning from 9pm on Tuesday, March 12 until 3pm on Wednesday, March 13.

Forecasters warned that strong winds may cause travel disruption and delays for high-sided vehicles.

“A spell of strong northwesterly winds is expected to develop across southwest Scotland late on Tuesday evening then extend across much of England and Wales throughout Wednesday.

“Gusts of up to 50-55 mph are likely inland and 65mph along western coasts.

“Winds will gradually ease during the afternoon.”

Heavy showers are expected to begin at around 10pm on Monday, March 11 and will continue until around 5m on Tuesday.
