Body part found by police near railway track

A police cordon is in place

Police have found what is believed to be a human body part near an old railway track in North East Lincolnshire.

Humberside Police officers are currently on the path near the old railway track at Louth Road in New Waltham. A police cordon is in place.

Police received a report of a discovery of what was believed to be a human body part at around 6.45am on Thursday, April 25.

Detective Chief Inspector Craig Nicholson said: “We are in the very early stages of the investigation however it is suspected to be a lower limb.

“A cordon is in place and people are asked to please avoid the area and allow officers to carry out enquiries as part of the investigation.”
