A fantastic display of around 200 classic and BMW minis

Car lovers get ready for a fantastic display of around 200 classic and BMW minis at an event on the Brayford waterfront this weekend.

The free to attend annual event organised by Lincoln BIG and Trent Valley Mini Owners Club will take place between 10am-4pm on Sunday, April 14.

As well as hundreds of the iconic cars on show, the owners of the Best Classic and BMW minis will be awarded with prizes at Lincoln Mini Day. There will also be charity stands in attendance.

Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Sarah Loftus said: “Lincoln Mini Day is one of our most popular annual events and it traditionally attracts Mini fans from miles around, including families who travel to join us from way beyond the county’s borders.

“We are offering everyone an extra warm welcome this year and encouraging families to “maximise” their day out by taking a look at how the city has changed over the past few months.

“We are sure many will be surprised, particularly with Lincoln’s new transport hub, the stunning progress being made on the £70 million Cornhill Quarter project which is transforming the city’s Cornhill area and the arrival of many new names in shopping.

“We are also encouraging people to have fun by downloading the LoyalFreeApp – which was recently launched in the city – and take advantage of a wide range of shopping, leisure and eating out discounts.”

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Classic Mini designed by Sir Alec Issigonis.

2019 also marks the 50th anniversary of The Italian job. Lincolnshire Cooper Club is planning celebrations in Cleethorpes on May 5 where the British director of the movie Peter Collision came from.
