Oh deer! Firefighters and police rescue animal from canal

Their quick work saved the deer from drowning

Emergency services saved a deer from drowning in a Lincoln canal on Thursday morning.

Police worked with fire and rescue crews to close off part of the A57 leading into Saxilby from 8.30am.

Crews were called to the scene and managed to rescue the deer from the Fossdyke Navigation canal.

Emergency crews were seen debating the rescue.
