Indian takeaway opens in former newsagents

It promises to be a healthier takeaway option

A Bangladeshi and Indian inspired takeaway has opened in place of a newsagents in a Lincoln village.

Home Curries, on Linden Avenue, promises to cook up healthier options and will take orders from Wednesday, May 22.

Owner Abdur Rahman has been busy over the past few months transforming Branston’s former newsagents Brookfield News.

When he applied for planning permission in October 2018, he said that the takeaway would also serve Heighington, Washingborough, Canwick, Bracebridge Heath and Potterhanworth.

Abdur said: “Home Curries will try something different from other outlets. The idea of our business is to break the image of traditional Indian takeaways by selling healthy, home style curries.

“Using fresh ingredients, our food will contain less oil, less sugar, less salt, and will be free from any artificial colours and preservatives.”
