Masked men raid two Lincolnshire stores

Police are appealing for information

Three masked raided two Lincolnshire stores on Wednesday morning, stealing a range of cigarettes in one incident.

Officers were called at 1.22am on Wednesday, May 22 to the Martin McColl’s store in the Market Place in Alford after a report of three men dressed in dark clothing and covering their faces.

The men raided the store and took a selection of cigarettes before reportedly fleeing in a dark estate car in the direction of West Street. They were carrying a large blue bag.

At 1.39am on Wednesday morning police received a second report that a Co-op store on Station Road in Sutton-on-Sea had been targeted.

Three people with covered faces entered the store. They arrived and fled in what was seen as a BMW 5 series with a roof bar on the car.

Lincolnshire Police said: “We are treating the incidents as linked, and believe the same offenders were responsible for each offence. No arrests have been made.”
