Mystery surrounds closure of two restaurants

Mystery surrounds the closure of two restaurants on the same street in Lincoln.

The Taste and Harry’s Jerk Centre, both on Silver Street, have both put up “temporary closure signs” in their windows.

Only the Cantonese buffet restaurant has given a hint of a reason for shutting down, blaming the issue on a “major problem in the kitchen.”

A statement on The Taste’s Facebook page apologises to those with bookings and insists that the closure was an “emergency.”

They said on May 2 that the restaurant would be open the following week but it remains closed this week.

The Lincolnite reached out to The Taste for a comment but were unable to speak to anyone at the time of writing.

Harry’s Jerk Centre has blocked off its windows and appears to have abandoned the building shortly after opening.

The Lincolnite supported the takeaway’s opening but can no longer reach the owner over the phone.

Dean Smith, the owner, said they were facing problems opening the restaurant side of the business in February.
