Staff ‘threatened with knife’ in village post office robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses

Two men threatened staff with a knife in an armed robbery in a Lincolnshire village on Friday morning.

Lincolnshire Police were called to the Post Office on the High Street at Newton on Trent at 9.08am on Friday, May 10.

Two men wearing helmets and black clothing threatened staff with a knife. They then left on a white motorbike with cash and cigarettes. The motorbike was abandoned in Stokeham, police said.

Two people were injured and are receiving treatment. Police said their injuries are not believed to be serious.

A 27-year-old man was arrested near to Stokeham and police are continuing the search for a second man.

Lincolnshire Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage, especially of two men on a white motorbike in black clothing.
