Volunteers set to transform Metheringham library

Parish council now owns the building and associated site

Metheringham Parish Council and a group of volunteers are planning a big revamp of their village library and associated facilities.

This comes after Lincolnshire County Council gifted the community library building to the village after years of negotiations.

The parish council now owns both the old NHS side of the building and the library part, as well as all of the surrounding land they are located on.

A consultation with local residents and businesses is being planned over the future of the site, which will be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, the library remains open thanks to over 35 volunteers, from Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm.
