Bearded man frightened and upset school girl

Police are appealing for information

A bearded man allegedly approached a school girl in a Lincolnshire village causing her to be frightened and upset.

The young girl was walking to school when she was approached by a man near the footbridge, northbound off Heath Lane in Great Ponton during the morning of Wednesday, June 26. The man is described as being around 60 years old with a beard.

The man could have been in the service station shop prior to the incident, but police believe he may well have crossed the footbridge back to the main village area.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area of the incident between 8.15am-8.45am or witnessed what happened.

Anyone who knows someone who either lives in or visits the village matching the description of the male, or the man himself, should contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 104 of June 26.
