Cat ‘left for three days’ after horrific attack

The charity have named him Happy and hopes that he will make a full recovery

A cat was left to rot in a terrible state “for three days” after a suspected dog attack.

The cat, named Happy by the Lincoln Cat Care Charity, was found with maggots and flies in his wounds near the Tritton Road roundabout.

A woman who found him said she knocked on doors to find the owner and was told by a local resident that Happy had been there for three days.

The cat was found with maggots and flies in its wounds.

The charity have named him Happy.

Penny Craig, from Lincoln Cat Care Charity, told The Lincolnite: “In all my years of doing this, this is one of the worst cases that I’ve seen.

“We took him to Gordon Lochrie’s vets in Gainsborough where he has been stitched up and seems to be recovering.

“The message we want to get across is that if you see any animal in the same place for any length of time, there is generally something wrong.”
