Lincoln micropub hops back to life

It will open soon

A new bar is opening soon in what was Lincoln’s first micro pub.

Work is underway at the new bar The Imp & Angel, located at 417 High Street in Lincoln, to replace the Hop & Barley which closed in March 2019.

In a message to its social media followers on June 21, The Imp & Angel said: “Floors are in. We’re getting closer guys and girls.”

The Imp & Angel will serve real ales, craft beers, wines, spirits and ciders.

As previously reported, former owner at the Hop & Barley Steve Marston had taken to a crowdfunding website to rally £2,000 of support in the hope of keeping the beer flowing.

However, the fundraising page and the pub’s Facebook page were later removed and the pub closed in March 2019 after just under three years in business.

Two months later the new bar – The Imp & Angel – began posting videos of the work in progress happening at Lincoln’s newest pub.
