Lincoln student in final for Miss England competition

“It isn’t just about having a pretty face”

A student from the University of Lincoln has made it to the finals of the 2019 Miss England competition.

Lucy Krogdahl was leaving the gym when a scout spotted her and got her to sign up for the pageant.

The third-year biomedical student was crowned as Miss Lincoln in January and was told this week that she would be going to the grand finals at the end of July.

As a young girl she struggled with her body image and had an eating disorder in her teenage years, so Lucy never imagined that she could take on such a challenge.

Lucy was scouted outside the gym.

“It is a complete shock to be entered into a final,” Lucy told The Lincolnite. “But I am looking forward to working in the community as well as the challenges the final will bring.

“The finals isn’t simply about having a pretty face. I am keen to raise money for charity, spread awareness about mental health and highlight climate change.”
