No trains to London over August bank holiday

Passengers are being advised to plan ahead

East Coast Main Line has cancelled all trains from Peterborough to London over the August bank holiday weekend for its £1.2 billion upgrade programme – affecting services to London from Lincolnshire.

It means that no trains will be running from Lincoln to London to allow for engineers to install new tracks and signals.

The new line is designed to be compatible with the Azuma trains, which have recently come into service.

Passengers are being warned to not travel on the line on both August 24 and 25 while the works are progressing.

Work will continue at Newark on Bank Holiday Monday on August 26, when a reduced train service will be running.

It is the first time in over 20 years that the Peterborough to London line will be shut down completely for works.
