Two suspected bombs found in Lincoln garden

Police are at the scene

Two suspected bombs have been found in a garden in uphill Lincoln.

Police said what is thought to be two old mortars were found in the garden of a property in Vere Street. It was reported to Lincolnshire Police at around 3pm on Friday, June 21.

No evacuation has yet been required, but the bomb disposal unit will attend as a precaution.

A police spokesperson said: “We are investigating two possible mortars in a garden in Vere Street, Lincoln. These were reported to us at 3pm this afternoon.

“As a precaution, the EOD will be attending, however at this point no evacuation is required.”
