“Lincoln was a no brainer for us”

A popular pop-up bakery is opening a store in the Cornhill Quarter this year.

Doughnotts always pulls in big crowds when it comes to Lincoln and will open a permanent store next to Lush (former Thorntons unit) by early autumn.

The delicious doughnut company was founded five years ago and already has stores in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby.

The also have vegan options.

Ursula Lidbetter, Lincolnshire Co-op’s chief executive, commented: “It is great to see our vision coming together with a quality mix of brands, offering something for everyone.

“Doughnotts will provide some tasty treats adding something unique to Lincoln’s already vibrant food offer.

“We are having positive discussions with other great quality brands and look forward to sharing news on these as we move forward.”

Wade Smith and Megan Scadden, founders of Doughnotts said: “The response from Lincoln has been the best we have ever had. Our markets do well and we love the people of Lincoln.
