Former borough and county councillor back in court over roof repairs

She allegedly failed to undo unauthorised house works

A former county and borough councillor has been recalled to court after allegedly failing to comply with a listed building enforcement notice.

Patricia Wainwright, known locally as Tiggs Keywood-Wainwright, is due in Boston Magistrates Court at 10am on Monday to face the charge.

It is understood to relate to a previous case at Lincoln Magistrates Court, which she was found guilty of “raising her roof” at a Grade II listed building on Witham Bank West, in Boston, without planning permission.

She claimed the works did not affect the character of the building and were urgently needed to protect it from water ingress.

Following the last case, she was ordered to pay £2,672.63 and to undo the unauthorised work.

Ms Wainwright was elected as a UKIP councillor in Boston in 2011. She later went independent but lost her seat at borough level in 2015.

She also served as a Lincolnshire County Councillor until 2017.
