Gas and air bottles stolen from Grimsby hospital

Up to 10 bottles are still missing

A number of gas bottles containing a painkiller were stolen from a hospital in Grimsby.

Some empty bottles were later found discarded, but it’s thought up to 10 are still missing.

The bottles, which contain Entonox and oxygen, also known as ‘gas and air’ were taken from a storeroom at the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby at around 1am on Tuesday, July 16.

Humberside Police said a suspect put the bottles into the back of a car before driving away. The car is believed to be a dark coloured Ford Focus.

The gas isn’t dangerous and is used in medical procedures for pain relief, but can cause dizziness, light headedness, nausea and unconsciousness if taken without medical supervision.

Anyone with information should contact Humberside Police on 101 quoting log number 44 of July 16.
