Lincoln man tours abandoned kids psychiatric centre

The explorer had been sent there for treatment before it closed down

A Lincoln urban explorer has been inside a former children’s psychiatric centre 12 years after he was treated there.

Moore House can be found next to Lindum Terrace, which was also used to treat people with mental health problems and left to rot 16 years ago.

Alex Thompson got in touch with The Lincolnite and told a reporter that he was sent to the centre by his school in 2007.

In a video Alex posted on his YouTube channel he tells viewers: “I have had personal experiences in this building. It’s so crazy that I’m in here again.

“It’s crazy how this place was in use until fairly recently and has already fallen into this state of decay.”

Old “activity worksheets” can still be found in some of the rooms, while the electrics and plumbing still seem to be fully functional.

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust got in touch with The Lincolnite to say that the old files seen in the video would “definitely not be patient files.”
