A life-long friendship blossomed after two Lincolnshire lads went for a few quiet drinks in a local pub and booked a spontaneous trip to Ibiza the next morning.
Ross Tyson, 21, from Tealby near Market Rasen went to watch the Nations League match between England and Holland in his local pub The Kings Head on June 6 with some of his Young Farmers’ mates.
Ross, who is an agricultural contractor, isn’t much of a football fan so when his friend Callum Cook, 22, from Killingholme, suggested they should go out in Cleethorpes a plan started forming.
Ross has only known Callum, who is a mechanical fitter on an oil refinery, since the New Year but the pair are often spending time doing things together.
After seeing an Instagram post about Ibiza Rocks, Ross jokingly suggested they should go to Ibiza instead. The joke soon turned into reality as the friends went on their first holiday together.

Ross told Lincolnshire Reporter: “It was spur of the moment. We weren’t really drunk, we just wanted to go away somewhere.
“We were in The Kings Head and at about 11.30pm we booked flights for 6.45am the next morning (June 7).
“As soon as we booked it the adrenaline hit. I tried to get a few hours sleep after going home, but it was difficult to sleep. I packed very light with just the clothes I had on and a fanny pack with my passport, wallet and phone. We set off at 3.30am to Leeds Bradford Airport and got to Ibiza around 9.20am.
“I think this has cemented a lifelong friendship. We are always doing stuff together and from that holiday we have grown better friends.”
The lads booked in at a hotel in San Antonio priced at around £65 for the night. They also bought tickets to Ibiza Rocks pool party and went to Eden superclub for its Defected night until 5.30am.
It was mainly a partying trip, but they did find brief time to walk round the port at San Antonio and down the sunset strip. After just an hour’s sleep it was back to the airport for 8am after a mad 27 hours in Spain.
Ross actually went back to Ibiza a week later on June 14 for his 21st birthday celebrations, so he didn’t tell his family initially about the spontaneous first trip.
He added: “I didn’t tell my family initially as they already knew we had one planned for my birthday and might have thought this was over the top.
“At first they were a bit shocked and more worried than anything as they couldn’t get hold of me and got an international dialling tone, but once they actually spoke to them they had a bit more of a laugh.
“We worked hard to earn a living so we may as well play hard too.”
This may not be the last spontaneous holiday for Ross and Callum as he admitted “if we get a real wet weekend, this is more than likely going to happen again”.
