Man dies after motorbike crash near Caistor

A 65-year-old man has died after his motorbike was involved in a crash with a van on the A1084 at Owmby near Caistor over the weekend.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the crash, which was reported to Lincolnshire Police at 1.30pm on Sunday, June 30.

Police confirmed on Tuesday, July 2 that he did not survive his injuries.

It was one of three crashes involving motorbikes in Lincolnshire over the weekend.

Police also attended the scene of a crash between a black Ford Fiesta and a motorbike on the A1028 at around 3.30pm on Sunday, June 30. The motorbike rider – a man in his 30s – was taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.

The force were also called to a crash on the A16 at North Thoresby late on Friday evening. The crash involving a black Ford Fiesta and a Harley Davidson motorbike happened at 11.30pm on June 28. A man in his 60s, who was on the motorbike, was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

Police were asked for updates on the other two crashes, but there was no reply by the time of publication.
