Students and locals in Lincoln will be able to get a caffeine fix at a new university coffee shop later this year after plans were approved by the city council.
The former academic shop at the University of Lincoln will be refurbished both internally and externally and turned into a coffee shop within the ground floor of the Minerva building.
The City of Lincoln Council approved the application on July 11 for the coffee Shop, which will be run by the University of Lincoln and feature its own brand of coffee.
The layout will look to retain the two existing routes into the shop, notably an automated primary entrance from within the main building and a secondary entrance from the front.
The shop will require some external cladding to the corner of the building. It will also promote use by students accessing the campus from the city centre.
PolkeyCollins Associates have been appointed by the University of Lincoln to develop a suitable scheme for a ‘good quality coffee shop for academics and general public alike’.
