Popular garden centre near Lincoln closing next month

It is due to difficult trading conditions

A popular garden centre near Caenby Corner will close down later this summer due to “difficult trading conditions”.

The Willows Garden Centre at Glentham is a family-run business with independent shops and a restaurant.

The Garden Centre, which has been open for around six and a half years, will close its doors for the last time on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26. A closing down sale will start on Thursday, July 11.

The restaurant, which is operated separately by a third party, will remain open.

Owner David Nelstrop told The Lincolnite that it was a very sad decision to make.

One full-time and three part-time jobs will be affected and David said he is in the process of offering staff a redundancy package.

He told The Lincolnite: “It is very sad especially with it affecting jobs as they are cracking staff, hard-working and loyal. It is sad to make the decision which results in redundancies and closure.

“We would like to express our loyal gratitude to our staff and customers over the years.”

Meat Inc. on Caenby Corner previously announced it would be closing its doors for the final time on Sunday, July 28.
