Lincolnshire is braced for thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon after a sweltering Bank Holiday weekend.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms and warned that the weather could cause flooding and travel disruption.

Across the majority of East England, the yellow weather warning is in place for several hours from 12pm until midnight tonight.

Forecasters are predicting the thunderstorms to hit Lincoln at around 4pm and expect it to last until around 7pm.

Temperatures will peak at 29°C just before the thunderstorms kick in, but will remain above 20° throughout the day.

The rest of the week is looking a little more settled with lows of around 10°C and highs of 20°C, with a chance of showers on Saturday, August 31.
