Village crash victims named by police

The family asked for their names to be released

A man and a woman who died in a North Lincolnshire village crash have been named by police.

As previously reported, emergency services, including an air ambulance, attended the crash involving a Volvo HGV and a Vauxhall Mokka near to the junction of Thorton Street and Wold Road on the B1206 near to Barrow upon Humber at around 12pm on Friday, August 16.

The family of the man and woman have asked for their names to be released.

Jean Kay, 70, and Richard Kay, 44, died after the car they were in crashed with another vehicle.

Another man, who was driving the car, sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was unhurt.

Humberside Police said: “Specially trained officers are supporting their family who have asked for privacy at this difficult time.”
