Man charged over Boston firearm scare

He will appear in court

A 65-year-old man has been named and charged by police for using a firearm at a property near Boston.

As previously reported, officers were called to Haven Bank in New York, Lincolnshire, just before 6pm on Monday, September 9.

Nearby residents were told to stay in their properties while police dealt with the incident, which was resolved just after 8pm the same evening.

A local man was then arrested.

He has since been named as Robert Farrington (65) of New York. He has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear.

Farrington was remanded to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 11.

After the incident police said that there are “no ongoing public safety concerns” and no people or officers were injured.
