Spalding man faces murder charge over teen boy’s death

He will appear at Magistrates Court on Wednesday

A 36-year-old man from Lincolnshire will appear in court facing a charge in connection with the death of an Essex boy, who died form injuries he suffered 15 years earlier as a baby.

John Doak of Delgate Avenue in Spalding has been summonsed to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 18, where he is due to face a murder charge.

He is accused of murdering Jack Mitchell from Laindon in Essex who died on March 13, 2016 at the age of 15.

A forensic post-mortem examination found the teenager’s cause of death to be a pulmonary infection and pneumonia as a result of injuries sustained as a baby.
