Teenager admits rape after spate of sex attacks in Lincoln

He was told that he faces a custodial sentence

A 17-year-old boy was told he faces custody after he admitted sex attacks on two women in Lincoln on the same day.

The boy, who cannot be identified because of a court order, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Crown Court to charges of rape, assault by penetration and sexual assault on a woman on July 21 this year.

He also admitted assaulting a second woman with intent to commit a sexual offence on the same day.

The charges followed reports of a number of sex attacks on women in Lincoln during July.

The boy was arrested on the evening of 22 July after police increased patrols in the area of the South Common and lower High Street.

Judge Simon Hirst adjourned sentence for the preparation of reports by the youth offending team.

The judge told the boy: “You will be sentenced on November 4. It is really important that you help the youth offending team because they will be preparing a report upon you.

“You have pleaded guilty to very serious offences and is important that the judge knows as much about you as possible.

“In the meantime, you will be remanded where you currently are.

“The fact that I am adjourning for a report does not mean that you won’t receive a custodial sentence. Custody is inevitable.”

The 17-year-old was remanded in custody to appear back before the Crown Court for sentence on 4 November.
