Man arrested after multiple police rush to Lincoln property

He has since been bailed by police

A man was arrested and released on bail after armed police attended an alleged assault in Lincoln over the weekend.

Lincolnshire Police were called at 8.35am on Saturday, October 26 to a property on Cannon Street, where a man had been assaulted. The man had minor injuries.

A number of officers attended and five addresses on the road were searched. An eyewitness nearby on Winn Street saw armed police and a police dog in attendance.

A 48-year-old man from the local area was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary. He was questioned by investigating officers before being released on bail.

Phil Vickers, Chief Inspector at Lincolnshire Police, said after the arrest: “I’d like to extend my thanks to the public for their patience and understanding while we resolved this incident.

“At no point was there any danger to the general public and I’m grateful for people bearing with us while this was brought to a conclusion.”
