Man charged after £17k Gainsborough watches theft

He has been named by police

A 29-year-old man has been named and charged after four watches worth a combined total of around £17,000 were stolen from a jewellers in Gainsborough.

As previously reported, the offender pushed a member of staff to gain access before taking four valuable watches from the main window display at Stanley Hunt Jewellers in Marshall’s Yard. It happened at around 2.30pm on Monday, September 30.

Matthew Massey, of Low Grange Crescent, has been charged with robbery in relation to this incident. He has been remanded in custody.

Lincolnshire Police also previously released an image of a man they were trying to identify, who they believed may have information to help with their enquiries.
