New High Street bakery opens in Lincoln this month

Get bready for lots of bakery treats!

Get bready for another much kneaded lunch fix when a new branch of Cooplands bakery opens on Lincoln High Street this month.

As previously reported, Cooplands will take over the unit at 159-160 High Street previously occupied by MSR newsagents. MSR newsagents closed suddenly in summer 2018 after serving the city for 10 years.

Cooplands had initially hoped to open the store in September depending on recruitment.

Work has been underway to fit out the store and signage is now in place outside, but some passers-by said they hadn’t seen much activity in recent weeks.

Cooplands confirmed to The Lincolnite on Tuesday that it is aiming to open at the end of October. Cooplands is getting its staff team together and will be holding more interviews today (October 8).

The store has already appointed a manager and assistant manager. Other roles have been advertised including sandwich production assistant, sales assistant and supervisor.

The bakery chain already has three shops in Lincoln at the Birchwood Shopping Centre, Carlton Centre and on Woodhall Drive.
