Police officer tried to use status to bury speeding offence

Clare Brown has already been in jail for four months

A female police officer is facing a misconduct hearing for using her status to bury a speeding offence.

Detective Constable Clare Brown attempted to use her status as an officer on January 6, 2019.

She has already been convicted at Nottingham Crown Court and jailed for four months over the offence.

Her partner was driving the car in a 30 mph zone in Wragby towards Lincoln at 48 mph when they were caught by an officer doing speed checks.

It is alleged that she breached the following standards of professional behaviour:

  • Honesty and Integrity
  • Discreditable Conduct

A special case misconduct hearing to be held in public at Lincolnshire Police Headquarters in Nettleham at 10.30am on October 30, 2019.
